Shade Shelf is a nail polish collection and community app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
Account and profile. Creating a Shade Shelf account requires an email address and password, which we use to sign you in and to let you recover access if you forget your password. You also set a display name and username, which are visible to other users. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Content you create. Posts, photos, captions, likes, follows, saved posts, and the shades on your Shelf. Depending on your privacy setting, some of this content is visible to other Shade Shelf users.
Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data (such as IP address and request timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.
When you look up a shade, the brand and shade name you type may be sent to an AI service (Anthropic) to identify the color. Only the shade text is sent — no account information, photos, or other personal details are included in these lookups.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
App data is stored with Supabase, our database hosting provider, and is encrypted in transit. Account emails (such as password recovery codes) are delivered through Resend, our email provider. Content marked private is protected by access rules so that only approved accounts can read it.
Shade Shelf may include links to retailers such as Amazon or Ulta. If you tap one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. Those retailers may set cookies on their own sites; their privacy policies govern what happens there.
Shade Shelf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal information (such as access, correction, or deletion). To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below.
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
